As part of my music video package, I created an Instagram page on Instagram to promote the artist and build a clear visual identity. Social media is an essential platform for music promotion nowadays, as it allows artists to connect with their audience and extend their branding beyond the music video.
I used photos taken with my phone camera, including the same images featured on the digipack. While these images do not directly replicate scenes from the music video, they still represent the artist’s personality and aesthetic. The photos feel candid, personal, and authentic, which supports the indie and nostalgic image I wanted to construct. This reflects real music promotion, where artists often use a variety of images to build their overall image rather than only using stills from the video.
The first post was a ''Coming out soon...'' teaser of the album, featuring a vinyl rolling and the name of the song ''Matilda'' by the artist name ''Fani''. I created this on
Canva, and used the picture taken by my sister for the background (mentioned in the
Editing the Digipack blog).
I then made a post with the date when the album will be released. I continued by posting the album cover, announcing that the album has been released.
I decided to combine instagram reels and posts, in order to engage with a larger audience reach.
After the release and announcement, I've made a short frame of the music video, with only a few shots. I've edited it on
CapCut, the sound from the video was removed, and the song Matilda was then placed over it, directly on Instagram. Another video that I decided to post on the social media would be a ''Thank you to everyone who contributed to the project'' which features multiple people waving at the camera. I posted a lyrics quote as well, in order to enhance how meaningful the album's message is.
All these posts have captions that further enhance these feelings too.
These posts reflect real social media conventions used by artists, helping promote the music video while also building a relatable and personal artist brand.
