I took the song Matilda on YouTube, and copied the link, put it in Kayamcookie, which is a free mp3 converter, and then downloaded the audio on my laptop, and imported it into Capcut.
Regarding the soundtrack, the song Matilda by Harry Styles, is originally 4 minutes, but I decided to shorten it by removing around 30 seconds. I tried to make the transition as smooth as possible by adding a fade, and intentionally made the last part a bit lower in sound, just to transition to a conclusion of the story.
Although I kept the song as a principal element, I decided to keep the sound of some recordings as natural diegetic sound, but had their volume lowered; the only one that I kept quite loud was a recording with me and my friend, which was filmed on my birthday and it was me saying 'I'm 18!' and Antonia responding with 'That's crazy'. I made this choice because it fit with the context of the song, in the chorus, where it mentions a party with close people, which become one's chosen family. The lyrics are:''You can throw a party full of everyone you knowAnd not invite your family, 'cause they never showed you loveYou don't have to be sorry for leaving and growing up, mmh''
